Code Hunter has a lot to recommend it; decent Science Fiction premise, good script and actors, and, most of all, a suave, elegant Adrian Paul as Neville.

Virtual Reality is something most of us have either heard of or experienced. Those of us who are serious gamers or have them in the family, don't have any trouble sliding into the VR world of Nick as he escapes hazards and meets other gamers in the VR lounge.

He's been a hacker and gotten caught at it so he really isn't supposed to be playing at all and has an exasperated mother who is trying to keep him from getting arrested.

The flashy entity he only knows as Skyler wants him to do a job for her. She proves she can out hack him in the real world by sending police and others after him until he finally agrees to steal the Livewire Code she wants.

In the Real World, a company called Thunderhead has developed an AI to handle weather control and is about to demonstrate the computer's capabilities to the military. Jerry Doyle, of Babylon 5 has a nice turn as an Admiral with killer storms on his hands. The head of the company and her chief programer, suddenly realize that the demonstration they set up has set the AI free to wipe out 34% of the human population on both coasts.

Nick is picked up by the FBI and along with the reporter he's contacted. She really wants a good story to counteract the major non-story from the last newscast. This weather story is a big one and she wants to know how these storms were created and most of all, how they can be stopped.

Nick manages to find an untended computer between visits from FBI. He gets INS to come after him for supposedly selling his passport. It works almost well enough for him to get away, but he gets hauled back to the company where the programer and his boss are desperately trying to get control of the computer.

Much chasing ensues and finally Nick and Neville confront each other in VR and Neville is defeated.

The presidential aid is the only character I had trouble with. Not really believable. One minute he's foaming at the mouth, the next he's calm... Oh, well...

This is one I'd probably watch even if AP wasn't in it. The VR aspects are very good and the story moves along nicely. Give it an 8 as a film and AP gets a 9 as nasty Neville.
