Wahote, an Apache Tracker, comes to Chicago to find out what happened to his grandson. He's put off by the police who tell him that the young man committed suicide. Wahote meets Cole on the roof of the building where his grandson worked. Cole is tracking a Vardian and they share information. Cole is intrigued by the older man and interested in his methods.

Wahote confronts his grandson's employer and is attacked by the Vardian. Cole takes him back to the Watchfire and they can hear additional voices on the phone message the boy left for his grandfather.

Between the two Trackers, they are able to get conclusive evidence against the employer and Cole is able to capture him. The respect Cole shows Wahote creates a strong friendship between the two Trackers. Don Franks is particularly memorable as Wahote.
