| Cole finds out that a local young woman has made a miraculous recovery from cancer and saved the life of another person. He suspects she may be one of the fugitives. He's right. Not only is she one of them, she's the Cirronian who sold her research materials to Zin who has used them to create weapons. Daggon and Lontoria were also very close at Sartop-the prison where Daggon/Cole was serving as a guard. Mel is upset, and tries to find out more about the relationship. The subplot with the young priest should have been very touching, the actor is a good one but the plotholes were very distracting and could have been fixed with one call to the local Catholic Church. I don't know of any situation where a priest, without the knowledge and consent of his superiors, would go off to investigate a "miracle" and I don't know too many Catholics who would just accept his presence without checking with the local parish. IMHO, bad writing and the "hermitage" thing was just silly. Many people choose to go on retreats when they're getting ready to make difficult decisions, but while they might go to a hermitage, they don't "make" a hermitage. Jamie/Lintoria's mother wants her to accept the contract with Mr. Raven. Lintoria, recognizing Zin, is more interested in getting out of there in a hurry, but Zin explains that he will kill her "mother" if she doesn't go along. The priest tells Jamie/Lintoria that he knows of a place she'll be safe and takes her to a deserted/abandoned Church. Zin and the alien wearing the body of the sheriff follow and injure the priest and nearly kill Cole. Lintoria who still cares for Daggon/Cole, gives him most of her Life Force and the priest is sure he's seen a real miracle. Outside her house, Jamie/Lintoria and Cole talk. It's obvious he does not want to take her life force and he tells her that Zin will not trouble her until she's had time to regain her full life force which could take years and walks away. |
