One of the escaped aliens is a serial killer who loves to recreate historical crimes.

He comes to Cole's attention when Jonas, the attorney who defended him ("Double Down") reads an article about several murders duplicating John Wayne Greasy's crimes.

Mel goes off with Cole to see what they can find out. Again, IMHO, we have a couple of really distracting holes in that Mel's call to the police would be traced and her fingerprints as well as Cole's are all over the house where they find the bodies.

The "B" story is about Jess and Ewen, her boyfriend. He sent her a plane ticket and she returned to London but he now is hesitating to commit to a marriage.

Mel and Cole find evidence that the fugitive is planning to recreat the "Jack the Ripper" murders and decide to go to London after him. There's a very bored customs agent and some fairly funny stuff with Cole and the luggage. Jess meets them and they head over to the hotel.

The scenes between Mel and Cole are very nice. The kata is, as all of AP's katas are, elegant. Mel is dreaming about an old boyfriend which gets a reaction from Cole, but he soon is off looking for any clue as to where the alien is hiding.

In spite of the police proceedure problems, this is a good episode with the contrasts between the relationships, Jess and Ewen and Mel and Cole, doing a lot to develope the characters.
