Someone knows about the aliens and is hunting them. Krace is a courier and Cole is hot on his trail until armed men corner him and Cole watches as they take him away. He can't leave Krace in custody so to keep the secret of the aliens, Cole breaks into the facility to find him.

Krace is a Nodoolian and used to living in water at least part of the time. The Head of the facility tortures him by raising the temperature of the fancy bed higher and higher-dehydrating him.

Cole is captured and they try to use the same tactic on him, but he's from a much warmer planet and loves the heat. Realizing their mistake, they hit him with liquid nitrogen and to all appearance, he is dead. They are getting ready to do an autopsy when the electricity and warmth bring him back, he goes into hyperspeed and grabs his clothes heading out to find Krase. Unfortunately, they catch him again and stash him into a refrigerated room.

Krace, using an artificial hyperspeed mechanism that Zin has developed, finds Cole and they manage to get outside before the alarm is sounded. In the rush to get away, Krase is fatally wounded and asks Cole to take his life force.

When Cole returns to the Watchfire, he asks Mel why her people want to hurt others. Good Question. Zin has the General running the facility in his pocket and thanks him, telling him the his money will be deposited to his account.
