Second Season

Amok Time
# 34 OAD 9/15/1967
SD-3372.7

The first time through, this was a scary situation. Rumors of Shatner leaving the show had floated through the grapevine and the first show of the season would have been a suitably dramatic place to eliminate Kirk. There was a collective sigh of relief when the TAG scene showed OBC alive and well.

Who Mourns for Adonais? Ep 33 OAD 9/22/1967 SD-3468.1

This was one of the scripts where the NBC Censors won in spite of the elegant Pink Toga worn by the Lovely Leslie Parrish. No pregnant historian! Uh uh. The tag line should have had McCoy trying to figure out if he had to prepare for the delivery of a normal child or a God... Too bad. It would have been fun.

The Changeling Ep 37 OAD 9/29/1967 SD-3451.9

This one is a personal favorite, if only for the excedingly funny, "My son, the doctor." line from Kirk. Outwitting the computer got used a little more often than was probably wise but it was handled well, here.

Mirror, Mirror Ep 39 OAD 10/6/1967 SD-Unknown

Alternate Universes are a classic Speculation and this one was a good take on the genre. The Costumes of the Alternate Uhurah and Kirk as well as the bearded Spock worked well. Barbara Luna was a lovely addition for Kirk to kiss.

The Apple Ep 38 OAD 10/13/1967 DS-3715.0

Well, all of them can't be winners and this one was.... definitely, not a winner. The giggle is David Soul, pre-Startchky and Hutch, looking very uncomfortable in his loincloth and unstable wig...

The Doomsday Machine Ep 35 OAD 10/20/1967 SD-4202.9

William Windom was always a favorite of mine and did a fine job. He plays the commander of another starship clobberred by the directionless Domesday device. This was a white knuckle one for me.

Catspaw Ep 30 OAD 10/27/1967 SD-3018.2

Well... The cat was cute. Antoinette Bowers was beautiful in the various outfits. Plot? Yeah, there was one but it was pretty thin.

I, Mudd EP 41 OAD11/3/1967 SD-4513.3

Harry Mudd was a trip. Roger C. Carmel played him just over the top and if the Blopper reel is anything to gage by, a good time was had by all. Gene L's story about the twins and their bobcat companion has been told so many times I think everyone knows it, but e-mail me it you haven't.
